Merazonia rescues illegally trafficked and abused animals throughout Ecuador. The center helps to rehabilitate and release birds, monkeys, and other rainforest creatures, and provides a comfortable refuge for those that are unable to adapt to life outside of the habitat.

Volunteers care for the animals, maintain enclosures, assist with construction work, and manage trail building and maintenance. Programs last two weeks or longer and cost $65 per week, plus $20 per week for food. Accommodations are provided in a dormitory.
