Africa & Asia Venture (AV)

Introduction

Established in 1993 AV specialises in teaching, community and sports coaching volunteer projects across Africa, Asia and Latin America. We offer group based projects in rural communities ranging from 5 weeks to 5 months. AV projects include designated independent travel time and you are under our dedicated 24/7 in country support network throughout. Demonstrate your initiative and take on responsibility in challenging environments, whilst exploring new cultures and making friends for life.

Types of Projects

All of our Ventures allow volunteers to integrate into the community, living independently and in local accommodation. Day to day activities are varied and can include teaching English, introducing after school clubs for art, drama, music, as well as lots of sports! Whatever your skills are, we can find a placement to suit you! We treat you as an individual, taking time to understand what you would like to gain from your experience. Once your time in the community comes to an end you will have a period of independent travel where we will continue to offer 24/7 back up - "Once an AV, always an AV".....

Accommodations

Accommodation varies hugely depending on location - please see the individual project itineraries on our website for details. It could range from staff houses to homestays with a village family.

Prerequisites

Group projects are aimed 18 to 25 year olds.

Applications accepted from around the world but volunteers should speak English. No formal qualifications required.
