Introduction

Aldeas de Paz (ADP) promotes social justice and peace. We focus on the preservation of indigenous cultures and the empowerment of young, disadvantaged people through additional opportunities in educational, recreational and environmental fields. ADP promotes a Culture of Peace through enriching cross-cultural exchange and voluntary community service for people of all ages, races and nationalities.

Locations

Santa Elena is the heart the Gran Sabana national park, Venezuela, the earth's oldest surface where prehistoric mountains are ecological islands with endemic species. A high plateau with wide open spaces, tropical forest, spectacular mountains, rivers and gorgeous waterfalls, home to the Pemón indigenous people is a great place to arrange adventure tours with a variety of destinations and exiting activities.

Timeline

All our programs are ongoing throughout the whole year and volunteers may choose to work in any combination of various programs and as many days/hours they wish. Work side by side with locals, learn new skills, study Spanish, and immerse yourself in the Latin and indigenous culture! Check our webpage aldeasdepaz.org about how you can join us. Accommodations

Located on a hill side on the edge of the small village, the Aldeas de Paz Guesthouse offers spectacular views of the valley below, the surrounding mountains and the wideness of the savannah. The village and its surroundings are very safe and generations of volunteers have been enjoying this wonderful setting. We also offer host family stay and independent accommodations in the village.

Prerequisites

Volunteers/interns need to be enthusiastic and willing to learn, dedicating initiative and passion to the position. Friendliness, care, commitment and patience are important qualities. We welcome individual volunteers, families and groups regardless of age, experience or background. You don't have to speak fluent Spanish; we provide free Spanish classes, full support and 24/7 back-up.

Costs
