Introduction
ArtCorps forms strategic partnerships with local development organizations in Central America in order to improve their capacity to educate, empower and mobilize communities. ArtCorps places Artists trained in Art for Social Action in communities served by the organizations. During one- to two-year placements, the Artists use murals, theater, stories, music, puppetry and other creative facilitation techniques to inspire and educate people to participate in improving their communities.

Prerequisites
Before applying to be an ArtCorps artist, please make sure that you meet these basic eligibility requirements: Available to work full-time with one of our partner organizations in Central America from January through December 2012 Spanish or English fluency Artistic training in any media Community development and group facilitation experience.
Costs
Once accepted as an ArtCorps artist, your financial responsibilities include: Your roundtrip travel A refundable deposit to reserve your place in the program. Personal expenses.
