Introduction
Common Ground Relief is a volunteer run, not for profit organization based in the Lower 9th Ward of New Orleans. We were founded in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, providing services to residents in need. Since then we have grown into a multi-faceted organization working on a variety of long term projects.
Types of Projects
Includes New Home Construction, Home Renovation and Rebuilding,Free Legal Clinic, Wetlands Restoration and Community Gardening.
Locations
We are based in the Lower 9th Ward of New Orleans, and most of our projects are based right here. If you work with our Wetlands Restoration team you may end up heading into bayou areas around the Gulf Coast.

Accommodations
We provide housing for short and long term volunteers, in rooms which sleep four to 6 people at our Lower 9th Ward headquarters. Includes communal kitchen and shared bathrooms.
Costs
$15 per day, which includes housing and three meals. For long term volunteers there is a $300 one time fee for housing plus $50 per month to cover meals.
