Introduction
Concordia is a not-for-profit charity that aims is to bring people together from different countries to work towards the breakdown of cultural stereotypes, promoting greater understanding and international peace. Our International Volunteer Programme offers volunteers the opportunity to join international teams of volunteers working on projects in over 60 countries around the world.
Types of Projects
Projects include nature conservation, restoration, archaeology, construction, art & culture as well as socially based projects including children’s play-schemes and teaching. Examples of projects: • Set up a music festival in Germany • Restore a castle in France • Rebuild a children’s playground in Croatia • Organise activities for street children in India • Teach English in Thailand
Locations
East West programme: Europe, Russia, North America, Japan, South Korea North South Programme: Africa, Asia and Latin America (These projects require volunteers to attend a preparation event with Concordia in Brighton)
Timeline
• Most projects run from June to September with a smaller winter/spring programme • Summer programme available on line on www.concordiavolunteers.org.uk every year in April with more than 1500 projects to choose from
Accommodations
Accommodation varies a lot between projects. A description of each project accommodation can be seen under the individual project description on the Concordia website.

Costs
Volunteers pay a registration fee of £180 and fund their own travel. Board and accommodation is free of charge on most of our East West projects. However, North South Projects often ask volunteers to pay an extra fee on arrival fee of approx. £150 that covers food and accommodation, as well as funding the programme in the country.
