Introduction

Tinkuy Peru is a grass roots volunteer organisation based in Huancayo, located in the heart of the Peruvian Andes. We aim to tackle education problems and social immobility in the rural regions of Huancayo.

Our main project is the Mountain school, where we teach English and Maths to around 75 kids ranging from 5-16 years old. We also run many community development programs in the local community, and play a central role in the lives of some of the poorest families here in Huancayo.

Costs

Costs for the Tinkuy Peru program cover your accomodation, three meals a day, and most of the weekend excursions (other than the small costs attached for travel and food on the excursion). The only other expenses that are probably necessesities whilst you are in Huancayo are probably water and travel costs to the school, this should come to no more than $10 a week. No volunteers are required to pay any fees whatsoever until they arrive in Huancayo.
