Affordable Volunteer Program in Mexico
International Volunteer HQ's partner organization in Mexico IVHQ Mexico has a wide range of volunteering opportunities available in working with teaching, childcare work, environmental work and computer tutoring.
IVHQ has volunteer placements in Cuernavaca and surrounding towns and villages. Cuernavaca is the capital and largest city of the state of Morelos in Mexico. Due to its great climate it is known as the city of eternal spring and is located about 85 km (53 miles) south of Mexico City. This town is extremely popular with volunteers and Spanish language students and has a lot of volunteer work available.
<p>Placements begin on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month. Volunteers can choose to volunteer for periods of one week to six months.</p>
Volunteers are accommodated in either home stays with a local family or in a volunteer house alongside other volunteers. Living is basic yet comfortable, and all home stays and volunteer houses have electricity and running water (except in rural area home stays). Volunteers can expect to share a room with several other volunteers. The volunteer house is nestled in a safe, quiet neighbourhood in the northern part of Cuernavaca and provides dorm-style lodging, Wi-Fi service, book and video library, access to the yard and swimming pool. Your stay includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner - Monday through Sunday.
Program fees are very affordable from USD270 for one week to USD2700 for 24 weeks.
The program fee covers airport pick up, orientation, t-shirt, program supervision, accommodation and meals during volunteer placement period, In-country 24/7 volunteer support and In-country administration costs.
Any dedicated volunteers over the age of 18. IVHQ also accepts groups and families.
